Yellow Jade Gu-Form Chinese Vases

Chinese, 19th century, Qing dynasty. A pair of very fine yellow jade fluted gu-form vases, each with flared mouth and base, the bulbous central section with relief carvings, a lotus flower on one side, the reverse with the face of a mythical beast. Each has two larger central mythical beast handles and loose rings, and an additional twenty mythical beast masks with loose rings on the body; both on wooden stands; unmarked; ht. 10.5 in. (26.7 cm) (without stand).
