Winchester Model 1873 Rifle (Second Model)

.44-40 WCF. 30" octagonal barrel length. SN: 69856. Lever action rifle with tube fed magazine and exposed spur hammer. Adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight and fixed blade front sight. Has a blued metal finish, case hardened frame and parts, and oiled straight grip walnut stock and forearm. Item features correct dust cover, metal buttplate, brass floorplate, and steel forend. Markings include 1866 patent date and two-line New Haven manufacturer address. Model name is marked to upper tang and lower tang is marked with serial number. 

Condition:

Fair. Bore is dark. Finish to barrel has mostly turned to a deep brown patina, with losses to sharp edges. Finish to frame and side plates has mostly worn away. Remaining finish on frame has a light amber patina and some mottled coloring. Wood stock has significant scratches and bites overall.
