This painting was executed by the artist during a trip to Glacier National Park in 1927. It was exhibited in Cincinnati in 1928 at the Closson Galleries.  

Wilbur Adam was a relatively obscure Cincinnati painter, but had an excellent hand. His work rarely surfaces, and one portrait was part of the Proctor & Gamble Collection (currently at the Cincinnati Art Museum). In addition, view lots 241-253, offered in these salerooms on 5/21/2011 on behalf of a descendant of Adam.
