39" blade length. 44" overall length. Civil War-era single edge blade with offset broad and narrow fullers to both sides. Hilt features a pierced guard with forward swept quillon. Leather wrapped wood grip has a metal backstrap and finger grooving, with a bird's head pommel. Item appears to be marked with an "S" to right ricasso. This item does not appear to have any noticeable regimental marks.

Fair. Blade has surface oxidation, pitting, and mottled discoloration scattered overall. Hilt has heavy pitting and surface oxidation overall. Grip has losses to leather covering. Pommel and backstrap appear to have been misted with some sort of white paint or residue. Grip appears to be missing some of brass wire wrapping.
