Uncut Bolt of Three 40-Star US Parade Flags

Printed cotton muslin, 13.75 x 21.5 each, uncut bolt is 13.75 x 54 in. overall, with rows of stars in a 7-7-6-6-7-7 arrangement. The Dakotas joined the Union on November 2, 1889, as the 39th and 40th states, though they were expected to join as one state, and Montana followed six days later as the 41st state, making the 40-star flag quite rare.
