U.S. Springfield Model 1873
.45-70 Govt. 32" barrel length. SN: NSN. Breech loading single shot rifle with fixed notch and blade sights. Blued metal finish with some case hardening to lockplate. Walnut stock has a plain straight grip and forearm with double barrel bands. Item has a painting of a gentleman's face in black, preceded by a heart painted red to right side of buttstock. Features sling swivels and a metal buttplate. Other markings include "U.S" to buttplate, and "U.S./MODEL/1878" to trapdoor breech. Item is without rear adjustable ladder sight.
Condition:
Fair. Bore is frosty and has some oxidation. Finish has thinning and losses overall. Case hardening and bluing have developed deep grey patina. Wood stock has darkened and has losses, scratching, and nicks scattered overall.
