U.S. Pattern 1835 Socket Bayonets in Scabbard

18" blade, 2.625" socket with .84" muzzle diameter, mortised for a bottom stud. Blade marked "US" over a 5-pointed star. In period brass mounted leather scabbard of a pattern variously referred to as the Pattern 1828, 1839 and 1842 by various collectors, dealers and reference books.


Fine. Bayonet with a smooth untouched brown patina, scabbard with some crazing and minor finish loss, brass with a nice uncleaned patina.
