U.S. Model 1885 Medical Orderly Uniform

Chest 34", sleeve 23".  Machine-stitched dark blue wool kersey body lined in blue-gray kersey with partial quilting in chest.  Front fitted with five muffin-style buttons showing "T.W. & W./PARIS" backmarks.  Non-functioning cuffs fitted with two Horstmann and four T.W.W. buttons.  Green wool medical orderly chevrons consisting of green Maltese crosses on white backing over three 1/2" green chevrons divided by correct white chain stitching.  Cuffs fitted with one pair of 5-year service "in war" stripes.  Includes trousers of matching light blue kersey with correct 1" green stripe.

Condition:

Good to very good.  Color is fast with minimal fading. Minimal pulling of stitches with chevrons showing a pleasing color with minimal wear. Some small moth holes in body with additional holes in trousers. Some staining from an unknown substance in rear interior above bottom skirt.
