U.S. Model 1795 Type III Musket by Harpers Ferry

.69 caliber. 45.75" barrel secured by three flat, spring-retained barrel bands. no S/N. Bright finish with iron furniture and a smooth walnut stock. Standard Harpers Ferry lock markings, dated "1809" at tail. No date on buttplate tang. Breech with depressed "US" and "{Eagle Head}/P" proofs, no serial number on barrel. Script "JS" inspection on counterpane. Reconverted to flint from percussion, likely a drum conversion as the shadow of the circle from a drum bolster is present on the barrel. Lock reconverted to flint with replaced pan, cock and small parts. Retains sling swivels and button head ramrod that is nearly full-length, missing threads on the end. Musket configuration is of the Type III style with an earlier Type II dated lock that does not fit well.

Good as reconverted to flint. Barrel with a pleasing, oxidized brown patina, barrel bands cleaned to bright. Lock functional, bore moderately oxidized. Metal with clear markings, wood markings clear as well. Stock with scattered bumps, dings, mars and imperfections.
