Two US Cavalry Sabers
1) US Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber by Ames. 34.5" curved single edged blade with three branch brass guard and leather wrapped grooved wood grip with twist wire. Obverse ricasso marked US/JF/1865 with reverse marked with Ames scroll mark. JF inspected pommel cap. Steel scabbard with post-Civil War Stuart hangers.
2) US Model 1906 Cavalry Saber by A.S. Co. 34.75"curved single edged blade with three branch brass guard and leather wrapped grooved wood grip with twist wire. Obverse ricasso marked A.S. Co./{Flaming Bomb}/1906, reverse marked US/J.H.C. Pommel cap stamped C. Steel scabbard with leather hangers.

Condition:
1) Very good. Blade mostly bright with legible markings and throat washer in place. Leather with some wear, brass lightly cleaned with a golden patina. Scabbard good to very good.
2) Very good. Blade mostly bright with crisp markings and throat washer in place. Leather with some light wear, brass thickly oxidized with a rich, dark patina. Scabbard moderately oxidized and about good to very good.
