1) US Pattern 1876 Cartridge Belt. 41.25" long (including buckle), 2.5" wide. Canvas construction with leather billet and brass frame buckle. Loops for 54 .45-70 cartridges. Front of billet stamped in two lines WATERVLIET / ARSENAL. Ink marked on interior of belt H.B. Chamberlain, CO. F, 6th Regt. M.V.M. Marlboro, Mass.
2) Spanish American War Era US Mills Cartridge Belt. Blue woven cotton construction with 45 cartridge loops for 30-40 Krag. Heavy cast brass US embossed H-buckle. Brass belt adjusters marked with Mills Patent information in four lines with 6 dates, the latest being Sept 11, 94.
Condition:
1) Good. Canvas fairly stiff and dry with moderate staining and some minor fabric loss. Leather moderately flaked and crazed, buckle heavily oxidized and with some verdigris.
2) Very good. Belt shows some light wear and fading, brass hardware with a dark, uncleaned patina.
