Two China Trade Gouaches, School of Lamqua (active ca 1805-1830)

Chinese, ca 1840. Two gouaches on paper, housed in bead and petal-tip gilt wood frames. A pair of landscapes with figures outside tile-roof houses, unsigned, with The Old Print Shop, NY, labels on back of each frame; 17 x 21 in. (sight of each).

Provenance:Property from the Descendants of Bertha Benkard Rose, Oyster Bay, NY and Tucson, AZ

Aside from some mild waving to the paper, the gouaches appear to be in good condition. The frames show some wear, mostly gilt losses along the edges.
