Trio of Civil War CDVs, Incl. Group Shot Showing 1st Lieutenant Alfred VonKleiser, 30th New York Light Artillery, Plus New Jersey and West Virginia Soldiers

Lot of 3 CDVs. 

CDV featuring fine group shot of four artillery officers, with period identification (possible signature) on verso that reads, "With Love / of / Alfred von Kleiser / 1st Lieut. - 30th NY Indpt Battery / July 28th, 1863." With verso imprint of Market, Frederick, MD. The 30th Independent Battery served in the Department of West Virginia and was overrun and captured (the guns had been abandoned) by the VMI Cadets at New Market.

Second CDV signed Wm B. Curtis, Col. 12th West V.V.I. William Baker Curtis enlisted in August 1862 as a Captain and assigned to Co. D, West Virginia 12th Infantry. He was promoted to Major in 1863 and Colonel in 1864. He mustered out in June 1865.

Third identified as F.L. Buckelew, Adjt. 14th N.J.V. F. Lemuel Buckelew enlisted as an Adjutant in August 1862 and was commissioned into F&S in the 14th NJ Volunteers. He was wounded at Monocacy in July 1864 which resulted in his resignation several months lager when he did not recover from these.
