English, late 18th-early 19th century. A fine tortoise shell tea caddy with serpentine front and ball feet, with ivory and silver fittings; ht. 5.25, wd. 7.75, dp. 5.25 in.

Provenance:Ex Collection of Frank Dickinson, Pembroke Antiques and Swan Tavern Antiques, Virginia Property from the Americana Collection of Robert and Barbara Hudson, Lakewood, Colorado

Condition:

Several cracks in tortoiseshell: vertical from escutcheon, across lid, to back panel, and along curved front of lid. Chips to both rear corners. Missing one interior corner block.
