* Springfield M-1D Garand Rifle,

.30-06 caliber, serial number 2240110. Barrel is marked SA DT312556 1 53M34 and with a small ordnance wheel. Bolt is marked D28287-12SA. Receiver is marked D 28291 32. OP rod is straight cut, flat-sided, with relief cut modification and is marked D35382 9 SA. Trigger housing is marked D28290-7-SA. Triggerguard is forged, milled and is unmarked. Gas cylinder is unmarked and has a wide front right base. The top of the rear ring does not have the usual flat. Gas cylinder lock is tight. The buttstock has a faintly cartouched SA over a GAW in a box with an ordnance wheel to the rear. It also bears the overhaul cartouche of the SA in a three-sided box over a J with an ordnance wheel forward of it. This cartouche is on the right side below the OP rod handle. The rifle is equipped with an excellent M84 telescope serial number 3947 and retains the ribbon eyepiece. It is marked M1D.

This is a mid-WWII production rifle that was modified at the Springfield Armory to the M-1D configuration in 1953 or 1954.

Condition:There is no front sight seal. The stocks are in excellent condition with only a few dents and dings. The metal shows very little wear and is in excellent condition.
