This is a mid-WWII production rifle that has been converted to resemble a true M-1C. It is not a government conversion.

Provenance:Ex. Harry B. Andree, Jr.

Condition:All wood is in excellent condition with only a few dents and dings. All metal is in very good condition showing very little use or wear. The two taper pins are improperly shaped and too short. The screws are of the correct design, but are also too short and poorly stacked. The telescope base is numbered to the rifle, but rather to a rifle no. 3309870. It is a correct M-1C base. The telescope is a Lyman Alaskan that was the M81 telescope; it is found with and without the M81 or authentic M-1Cs. This telescope is serial numbered 48079. Its cross hairs are so fine as to be almost invisible. Far too fine for an M-81 for military use. There is no sliding screw shade nor is there a rubber eyeshield.
