* Springfield M-1 Garand Rifle, So Called "Tankard Model",

.30-06 caliber, 18" barrel, serial number 1901046. Firearm is marked on the right side D 282291 27. The bolt is Springfield marked 6525287-SA/US-2. The OP rod is straight cut, curved-sided. It has the 5/16" relief cut modification and is marked 35382 9 SA. It has been shortened to operate with a shorter barrel. The follower rod has had a crude modification to it. The receiver is Springfield. It is marked on the right side D28291 27. The trigger housing is Harrington & Richardson and is marked 6528290-HRA-N. The triggerguard is forged, milled and is marked C46025 W.R.A. The housing is Springfield. The barrel is 17.5" long and is marked 3 SA 6 45. The gas cylinder is unmarked with a flat on the top of the rear ring. The front sight base is narrow and has had the slanted area near the bore axes saw cut and modified. The gas cylinder lock is low and there is no front sight seal. There are no marks on the buttstock. The buttplate is a heavy stamped flat plate without any checkering or opening and it is unmarked.

This rifle is a non-Springfield attempt to reconstruct an experimental T26 rifle.
