* Springfield M-1 Garand Rifle,

.30-06 caliber, serial number 399744. Barrel is marked S-A-9-41. The marks are inverted. Additionally, there are several markings indicating British ownership at one time. There are no other British marks anywhere on the rifle. The butt is marked D28287-2SA, receiver is marked D 28291-14 S A. OP rod is straight cut, curved-sided, unmodified and marked D35382 3 SA. Trigger housing is marked D281290-5-SA. Triggerguard is forged, milled and marked C-46025-3-5A. Gas cylinder is unmarked and has the narrow front sight base. Front sight seal is in place. Buttstock is cartouched SA over GHS in a box with the large ordnance wheel to the rear. The grooved barrel chamber is the long type. A serifed P is in a circle on the front side of the pistol grip.

This firearm is an unmodified pre-WWII production rifle.

Condition:The wood is overall in excellent condition. There is a small gouge on the left side above the front end of the triggerguard. There is a number of moderate to light dents on the fore end of the buttstock and on the left cheek side. The metal is in excellent unmarked condition with the exception of the gas cylinder which has had some of the black material worn off of the stainless steel.
