* Springfield M-1 Garand Rifle,

.30-06 caliber, serial number 1665612. Barrels are marked S-A-8-49. Bolt is marked D28287-12SA. Receiver is marked D 28291 27 and shows some discoloration of the finish at the heel where the later heat treatment was applied. The straight, flat-sided OP rod is marked D35382 SA and has the 5/16" relief cut. The trigger housing is marked D28290-12-SA. The forged and milled triggerguard is unmarked. The buttstock has the short grooved barrel channel. It was probably lightly sanded at one time since there is no cartouche remaining. There is a serifed P in a circle on the front of the pistol grip, and the cheek rest area has an SA inside a three-sided open bottomed square. The gas cylinder has the narrow front sight base. There is no front sight seal.

This is a mid-WWII production rifle that has been through an overhaul.

Condition:The wood is in very good condition, but dark. There is a small number of dents and dings. The metal is in excellent condition.
