.30-06 caliber, 24" barrel, serial number 35962. OP rod is a stress relief, cut modified -1 rod. Followers, single bevel follower area of gas rod catch assembly, and bullet guide are all original. The round follower rod and both springs are all original. All wood is from later production. Buttplate area has been shaved to seat an early buttplate. Front handguard spacer is late and front handguard ferrule is a blackened brass reproduction. Barrel is completely unmarked and is a very well-made reproduction. The gas trap cylinder is an unmarked second type (no flutes) original. The gas cylinder plug is an original, unmarked, flat front plug. The front sight is a blackened brass reproduction. The assembly is a close likeness of an original rifle.

This rifle is a restoration of a modified gas trap rifle to its original form. The restoration has been accomplished through the use of original gas trap parts, later gas port parts, and reproduction parts. The entire unmodified receiver, rear sight, and bolt/round firing pin are original parts. The entire trigger assembly is original.
