* Springfield M-1 Garand Rifle,

.30-06 caliber, serial number 6774. Barrel is marked 2 5A5 44 with an inverted P. Receiver is marked 7 over D 28291. Bolt is marked D 28287 over -1 over J3. Trigger housing is marked D28290-1-SA with narrow pad. Triggerguard is forged and milled and is marked C-46025-1-SA. The hole in the rear does not have concentric grooves. OP rod is unmodified and marked D35382 9 SA. Buttstock is cartouched with an SA over GAW in a square and a small ordnance wheel to the rear. There is an unserifed P in a circle on the pistol grip with a tiny ordnance wheel on the bottom of the grip.

This is an early gas trap rifle that was rebuilt in 1944 with a "narrow nose" gas port cylinder assembly.

Condition:This rifle is in overall very good condition. Buttstock is dark, but will clean very nicely. There is a 2" chip of wood running down the left edge of the front handguard. The bore is black but should clean nicely.
