.30-06 caliber, serial number 1500972. Barrel is marked 1 S-A-2-43. Bolt is marked D28287-125A. Receiver is marked D 28291 27. The straight cut, curved-sided OP rod is marked D35382 6 SA and has not been altered. The triggerguard housing is marked D28290-8-SA. The forged and milled triggerguard is unmarked. The gas cylinder has the narrow front sight base. The front sight seal is missing. The buttstock has a short barrel channel and is cartouched SA over EMcF in a box with an ordnance wheel to the rear. There is a serifed P in a circle on the forward side of the pistol grip. There is also a faint C SAA in a box on the right side below the windage knob. The heel of the receiver shows the blackening of the parkerizing resulting from the heat treatment that was applied to these arms subsequent to their manufacture.

This is an unmodified mid-WWII production rifle.

Condition:The wood is in excellent condition with only a few nicks and dings. The metal finish is excellent and shows no wear or abuse. Rifle is complete with a leather sling marked M.R. Co 1942. This is a very well-used specimen of an arm of this period of manufacture.
