.30-06 caliber, serial number 1154074. The barrel is marked 1-S A-2-43. The bolt is marked D28287-12SA. The receiver is marked D 28291 17. The OP rod is straight cut, curved-sided and has not been modified with a relief cut. It is marked D36382 5 SA. The trigger housing is marked D28290-12-SA. The triggerguard is forged, milled and is unmarked. The gas cylinder has a 4 stamped into the flat top of the rear barrel. It has the narrow front sight base and the front sight seal is intact. It is faintly cartouched with an SA over EMcF in a box with a small ordnance wheel to the rear. The serifed P in a circle is almost completely obliterated. There is an unserifed P in a square on the flat of the pistol grip.

This is a mid-WWII production rifle that has had some overhaul work done to it.

Condition:The metal is in good condition showing some use, but no abuse. The finish, though faded, is largely intact. The buttstock has a number of small dents and dings. It appears that the stock was sanded during the overhaul work. This may be the only detrimental work done to this piece.
