Spinach Jade Chinese Marriage Bowl

Chinese. A mottled green spinach jade four-footed marriage bowl. The interior has a traditional double-fish motif together with peonies and foliage in relief; the exterior with ornately carved interlocking foliage, having two ornately carved peony handles, each supporting a loose ring. Incised six-character Qianlong mark on the bottom. On a fine 20th century teakwood stand; ht. 3 in. (7.1 cm), lg. 16.5 in. (41.9 cm) (without stand).

Provenance:Purchased 2/1972 from Beaver Dam Plantation, Dundee, MS.
Estate of Richard C. Friedman, Shaker Heights, OH.

Condition:A few hairline cracks in the jade. Age cracks and small areas of paint loss on stand.
