Turret (cylinder) for a a 2nd Model Porter turret revolving rifle. Numbered 426. 9 tapered chambers, nominally .425" at mouths. Turret measures 3.287" in diameter, is .70" thick and has a .5" tall, .5" diameter stud in the center to align the turret in the gun. Porter rifles were normally provided with more than one turret, allowing the spares to function much like pre-loaded magazines in modern arms. These turrets were numbered to the guns that they accompanied. This would be a wonderful acquisition for the owner of Porter Rifle #426.
Good condition with light staining and surface oxidation.
