Smith & Wesson No. 2 Revolver
.32 Rimfire Short caliber. 5" barrel length. SN: 51987. Single-action bottom break tip-up revolver with rear spring notch and front blade sights. Pistol sports a blued metal finish overall with brass blade front sight and two piece varnished grips. Octagonal barrel features a full length rib and single line address mark reading "SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD, MASS". Cylinder and barrel are numbered "34". Serial number indicates post Civil War manufacture.
Condition:
Good. Bore is dark with patina throughout and shallow pitting around breech area. Chambers show a brown patina with some patches of oxidation. Some bluing still visible to frame area and barrel rib but item is a brown patina overall with some scratches. Barrel address marking is weak. Grips have some wear at edges with much of the varnish worn off of base of right grip panel. Hinge screw and left plate retaining screw heads are partly stripped. Barrel hinge is loose, allowing barrel to wiggle in place. Timing is good but lock up has slight wiggle.
