Smith & Wesson Model No. 2 Old Army

.32RF. 6" ribbed octagonal barrel. SN: 29011 (Mfg. ca.1865). Blued finish, color casehardened hammer, varnished rosewood two-piece grips. Single action tip up cartridge revolver. Standard Smith & Wesson address barrel mark and patent information on cylinder. The matching assembly number 7 is present on the lower rear web of the barrel, on the face of the cylinder and on the left grip frame under the grip. The right grip is correctly serial numbered to the the gun. Revolver retains the original front sight, the hinge screw and side plate screw are replaced, the hinge has a braze repair and the hammer spur is shortened.

Condition:

Good. Retains some blue on the frame, with the balance of the metal a mostly smoky gray patina with scattered oxidation and some pitting. Markings remain mostly clear and legible. Mechanically functional, fair bore with moderate pitting and strong rifling. Grips with wear, sanded and refinished with the right grip cracked its entire length and repaired. Otherwise with bumps, dings and mars.
