*** Smith & Wesson Model 76 SMG

9x19mm Parabellum. 8" barrel length. SN: U0123. Fully Transferable on ATF Form 3 or Form 4, subject to state and local ownership restrictions. Full automatic sub-machine gun with a removable box magazine and fixed ghost ring and post sights with ear protectors. Parkerized military finish with white accented markings. Item has checkered black plastic grips and a folding metal stock. Features an ambidextrous safety/selector, ported heat shield, and sling loops to frame. Item includes a S&W Model 76/760 training barrel marked "S&W 76/760 9mm TRAINING BARREL/SN: 017". Similar to the Carl Gustaf M/45, Smith & Wesson sought to make a rugged and reliable sub-machine gun to replace the M/45. The M/45 was favored by US Navy SEALS for its versatility, however Sweden halted their sales in protest of US involvement in the Vietnam War. In response S&W developed the Model 76 in 1966 and produced them from 1967-1974. However, the S&W Model 76 saw limited use due to evolving combat needs and little interest. Following the Vietnam War production stopped and most were eventually kept as stock by some Navy yards, police departments, and/or sold to private owners.

Very good. Bore is bright and rifling is clean. Finish is strong overall with a few light losses, scratches, dings.
