Letter describes the disagreement between Isaac M. Griffin and James Nicholson arising over the disputed ownership of two enslaved men, "Curtis & Perry now in the possession of the said James Nicholson." Dated just two days before the first shots of the Civil War were fired at Fort Sumter.
