Lot of 6 cased images of unidentified Union soldiers, including one sixth plate and one ninth plate ruby ambrotype, plus one sixth plate and three ninth plate tintypes, all but one housed in full case (two fully separated at hinges). Highlights include the sixth plate ruby ambrotype showing a handsome young Cavalry officer standing in a studio setting, with officer's sash around his waist, posed with sword in hand, his hat bearing the crossed saber insignia and what appears to be "L" resting on the table beside him. Borders around image indicate this is a period copy, although the portrait is clear, with strong contrast; and sixth plate tintype of man with mustache and short beard, his cheeks tinted bright pink, with three-cent revenue stamp affixed to back of plate bearing the handstamp, "Feb. 10 / 1865 / Woodstock, VT."
Few tintypes dark, with some creasing. Two ambrotypes in very good condition. Cases with some wear/loss.
