The invitation is in French, but translated reads "Sir, to kindly honor my establishment with your presence. With my consideration, Your most humble servant, Daguerre. Current Exhibition the July 28 1830 at the City Hall. (Painted by Daguerre) View of Paris, captured from Montmartre. (Painted by Daguerre) Paris, January 5 1831. Note: You shall be admitted, with a company, upon presentation of this letter, that shall only be good until the end of February." It's a fascinating survival.
The invitation and address for mailing appear on two faces of a larger (10 x 16 inches) folded sheet. The other faces are blank.
This invitation needs careful packing, so special packing fees apply. See the shipping terms for details.
