Shiloh Archive, Including CDV of General John A. McClernand by Anthony and Three Images of Henry Long of the 77th PA, Plus

Lot of 5, including a CDV of Major General John A. McClernand (1812-1900) standing in uniform, published by E. & H.T. Anthony from a photographic negative at Brady's National Portrait Gallery. McClernand notably led a division of the Army of Tennessee at the Battle of Shiloh and, for a time, served as senior corps commander in General Ulysses S. Grant's army for the Vicksburg Campaign of 1863. Also with three photographs of Corporal Henry H. Long, 77th Pennsylvania Infantry, the only Pennsylvania regiment engaged at the Battle of Shiloh. A CDV credited Klauber's, Louisivlle, KY presents Long as a young solider, while in two later mounted photographs, one of which bears the imprint of Mentzer, Mount Joy, PA, Long appears as an older man.
