Sharp's Model 1863 Carbine, From the James B. Scoville Collection

.50-70 caliber, 22" round barrel, S/N 86056. Three land-and-groove rifling, lockplate with Sharps markings. Walnut stock and forearm. Stock is outlined around the buttplate with metal tacks, and a circle of tacks on the right side of the stock.


The barrel has some pitting mixing with some brown staining. The action is mostly gray to brown. Stock and forearm have some nicks and dings. The tacks are steel. Mechanically good, bore is good.
