Scottish, late 18th century. A Chippendale chest on chest in mahogany with satinwood inlay and pine secondary, upper case having a reeded and inlaid molded cornice, over a serpent and lion inlay decorated frieze, the two aligned and three graduated cockbeaded drawers flanked by fluted corner columns with brass capitals, lower case having three graduated and cockbeaded drawers with consistent bone inlaid escutcheons, flanked by floral inlaid stiles, all rising on bracket feet; ht. 78.25, wd. 47, dp. 21.5 in.
Item is in overall good condition. Some veneer loss to upper case along the base sides. One drawer missing bone inlaid escutcheon. Restorations and repairs to some inlay and veneer along with cockbeading. Minimal surface wear.
