Rising Sun and Broken Star Quilts
American, late 19th-early 20th century. Two pieced quilts, including one in Rising Sun pattern featuring twenty circles in red and orange on finely cross-stitched white ground with red and orange borders, and one in Broken Star pattern featuring a center star in red, orange, and pink patterned fabric, and star blocks on each corner, all on finely cross-stitched white ground; Rising Sun (larger) 68.25 x 86.75 in.
Condition:
Both washed, and some fading on each. Light stain in one corner of rising sun quilt. Several light stains around borders of broken star quilt.
