Reverse Painted 2-Part American Mirrors,
lot of 2, both early 19th century. Includes a gilt & black painted example with 1/2 turned pilasters having square corner blocks with applied brass rosettes. Polychrome painting above mirror with thatched cottage, trees & lake with canted cornered white border with gilt flowers set in sponged oval at all 4 sides; 12" wide x 25.25" high; AND a gilt frame with 1/2 turned pilasters having square corner blocks with applied brass rosettes. Polychrome painting above mirror with basket of flowers & fruit, yellow border with gilt sea shells on sponged oval at all four sides; 15.5" wide x 34" high.
Condition:1st with light wear to gilt & paint of frame, else EXC; 2nd same & reverse painted glass cracked.
