Reconverted Full-stock Flintlock Rifle with Henry Parker Warranted Lock, Signed Barrel

About .38 caliber. 38.25" octagonal barrel length. SN: NSN. Full-stock flintlock rifle that appears to have been reconverted to flintlock from percussion. Browned metal finish and brass furnishings. Beautiful maple stock is carved with scroll-style tendrils to straight grip and forearm, with cheek piece to left side of buttstock. Stock has a 6-pierced patchbox, forend cap, thimbles, sideplate, and buttplate all made of brass. Patchbox, buttplate, and sideplate both feature scroll engravings. Lockplate is marked "HENRY PARKER/WARRANTED" and features a swan-necked cock lever. Item also has fixed semi buckhorn and brass blade sights and double set triggers. Top of barrel has a very faint "M" visible, similar to how early 19th century Somerset County, Pennsylvania gunmaker, J. Mier, signed his long rifles. Mier was said to have been active during the late flintlock to early percussion period of long guns. Item is without flint.

Fair. Bore is dark. Finish has pitting and losses overall. Wood stock has a crack around entire wrist, with what appears to be a repair above triggerguard. Wood to bottom of lockplate is also cracked and partially separated. Patchbox release button has surface oxidation and interior of patchbox has green brass oxidation residue. Action is functional.
