18mo (100 x 165 mm). Engraved vignettes. (Spotting, occasional pencil notation). Contemporary brown calf, smooth spine, black morocco label gilt (heavy scuffing, loss to spine cap and front board). 

FIRST EDITION of Ray's first hand account during his imprisonment during the First Barbary War. Accompanied by engraving, likely clipped from a Civil War-era broadside or newspaper, featuring an eagle holding a banner which reads "Union is Strength." Sabin 68034.
