RARE MARION HAWES DAGUERREOTYPE BY SOUTHWORTH & HAWES

Sixth plate daguerreotype in push-button case. This is a portrait of Marion Augusta Hawes, daughter of Josiah Johnson Hawes and Nancy Stiles Southworth. Nancy (sister of Albert Sands wife of J.J. Hawes) served as a colorist in the Southworth & Hawes firm. This daguerreotype retains the original convex glass. Unsealed. Very good condition.
