Quarter Plate Occupational Ambrotype of Nautical Subject Posed with Measuring Device, Plus

Lot of 5 cased images, featuring quarter plate ambrotype of a gentleman sporting a long beard, wearing a cap that appears to bear nautical insignia. The subject is seated with some type of tool or measuring device in hand. The hat insignia, buttons, and accessories are highlighted in gold. Housed in quarter plate Union case, The Dance, (Berg 1-39), with large crack through front cover, loss to front cover near hinge, other minor chips. Image with surface wear. 

Accompanied by sixth plate and sixteenth plate daguerreotype portraits of men, each with some tarnish and surface spotting on plate. Sixth plate housed in half case with surface wear; sixteenth plate housed in full case with surface wear/loss; and 2 sixth plate tintypes, including a studio portrait of three men wearing the same style of shirt and tall boots, housed in full case, and studio portrait of bearded gentleman seated in a studio holding what looks to be a pool cue, housed in half case. Each tintype in very good condition.
