.30 caliber, 18" barrel, S/N 1627285 (ca. 1943). Parkerized finish with oiler stock, high wood, and type I barrel band. "C-Q" marked front sight with replaced early type "L" rear sight. Type one "QU" barrel marked with undated Marlin marking with additional firing proof. Front of receiver marked with model markings, rear of receiver marked "QUALITY H.M.C." over serial number. Button safety. Right side of stock shows ordnance wheel with very faint "H.M.C." cartouche in sling well.
Fair to good overall. Some thinning to finish on sharp edges and workings parts. Stock shows some handling marks and blemishes consistent with age and use but is otherwise free of major cracks and splits. Front sight pin is ill-fitting. Chamber gauges a "1", muzzle gauges about a "3." Bore is good; mostly bright with visible edges to rifling.
