Presentation Grade Clauberg Model 1850 Staff and Field Officer's Sword

32" blade with etched panels of military motifs. On one side of the blade, engraved For Union And Liberty. Panels have gilt finish, highly polished blade. Cast brass handles with Lady Liberty with shield and sword; the other side has floral designs.  Guard with {eagle} and US. Brown scabbard with brass bands and carrying rings.

Condition:

Brass handle with nice untouched patina. Blade still retains most of the bright polished finish with all of the gilt finish, the gilt is just thinning a little. The scabbard is excellent still retaining most of the brown finish. This sword was more than likely presented as the plague is missing.
