Percussion Long Rifle with Golcher Lock
About .56 caliber. 44" octagonal barrel length. SN: NSN. Percussion long rifle with notch and blade sights. Browned metal finish with brass furnishings. Walnut stock with a straight grip and exaggerated cheek piece. Item features a "GOLCHER" signed percussion lock with scroll engravings and other obscured markings. Right side of stock features a double pierced brass patchbox with scroll and sunburst engravings, followed by a brass star furnishing. Barrel appears to be unsigned. Included is a solid piece wood ramrod.
Condition:
Good. Bore is dark and has heavy oxidation. Finish has mostly turned to a dull black-brown patina with scattered pitting and scratches overall. Wood stock has several 2" to 4" cracks on right side, with mars and scratches scattered overall. Action is functional. Patchbox was unable to be opened.
