Percussion Fowler with Buffalo Hide Scabbard

.75 caliber smoothbore, 32" octagon to round barrel with full-length under rib, no S/N. No finish, hardwood half-stock with checkered wrist and tack decorated butt. Barrel secured to stock with wire wrap and twine. Back action percussion lock, iron button head ramrod. Rifle is accompanied by a fringed buffalo hide scabbard.

Condition:

Poor. Gun is in barn found condition with a thick layer of rust on all metal parts. Lock is functional, bore is poor. Stock is extremely dry and shows drying crack in the butt, heavy wear and some damage with loss around the lock and butt plate. An old repair is present in the forend with sheet copper plates tacked in place. Scabbard is fair, dry and shedding fur at a somewhat alarming rate.
