American (Pennsylvania), 1804. A silk on linen ground sampler with an all-around arcaded strawberry border, decorative elements of a row of chain links, fruit baskets with leaves, flowering trees, birds, tulips, four small dogs, hearts, diamonds, a crown, and flowering plants, and the verse Remember now / thy creator in the / days of thy youth, signed and dated at bottom 1804 / Sarah Ann Taylor / Aged 11 years, framed; 14.75 x 11.75 in. (sight), 16.5 x 13.5 in. (frame).

Sarah Ann Taylor was born October 17, 1793 in Halfmoon Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania to parents Jacob Taylor and Hannah Hollingsworth Taylor.

New molded gilt frame with archival glass. Sampler has been mounted on acid free board. Some edge damage due to at least two previous framings.
