American (Pennsylvania), 18th century. A Chippendale blanket chest in cherry, having a dovetailed case with bleeding heart inlaid escutcheon, molded and hinged lift top surface with interior left till and drawer, all rising on molded and applied bracket base with a fine carved spur and shaped skirt; ht. 25, wd. 45, dp. 19 in.
