Pattern 1832 Ames Sword

34" quillback blade.  Leather and brass wire wrapped handle.  Brass pommel and backstrap; brass guard with branches.  The blade is etched with N.P Ames Springfield Mass 1837 and the initials stamped near the ricasso T.W. On the reverse United States and floral designs.  Metal scabbard.

Condition:

The brass pommel and guard have a nice dark patina. Brass wire missing off the handle. The scabbard is dark brown with some pitting. Three dents in the scabbard. The blade is excellent still retaining a bright polished look with very sharp and crisp markings.
