Tin torch head in the form of a star, comprised of a circular barrel, approx. 4.5 in. dia., with five points attached. Enhanced with red, white, and blue paint. Remnants of star visible at center of each side of torch head. With original socket for placement upon a pole, but lacking original pole. Approx. 8 x 13 in. overall (from top portion containing wick to socket below head). Ca late 1860s, possibly carried in a torchlight parade by a political supporter.
Some loss to paint (approx. 75%-80% paint present). Oxidation to torch head.
