Pair of Large Tsubas Including Shakudo Tsuba with Gilt Ground and Tsuba Signed Choshu ju Masanaga
1. 3.2" width. 3.2" length. Iron tsuba with cherry blossoms cut into relief and gold details. Item signed "Chashu ju Masanaga" around Nakago-ana. Outer rim displays geometric patterns in gold.
2. 3" width. 3" length. Shakudo tsuba with copper salted finish to bamboo leaves and shafts over a gilt ground on front. Obverse shows shakudo ground with wave details.
Condition:
1. Very good. Item shows some oxidation within details and edges. Some gold details worn away. Signature shows strong definition.
2. Fine. Bamboo and waves show strong details with few spots of weakening or rubbing on edges. Gilt ground strong to front with tarnish to shakudo texture on obverse
