Pair of Flintlock Pistols by Beckwith of London
Approx. .64 caliber (18 bore), 4" barrel, NSN. Barrels fitted to varnished full stocks with single wedge. Barrels are silver plated. Silver plated Iron furniture. Barrels and swivel ramrods appear to have been plated at some point during their lifetime. Flat Silver plated lockplates with double-neck cocks and waterproof pans. Bridled frizzens with rollers. Lockplates lightly engraved with panoplies of arms, borders, and floral themes with "BECKWITH"., Breech and tang engraved with line patterns en suite as is silver plated pineapple forend triggerguard.
Condition:
Barrels, locks, and furniture still retain most of the tarnished silver plated finish. Stocks show some handling marks and blemishes with one piece showing a moderate repaired crack through lockplate screw. Actions are mechanically functional; one lock has missing safety. Bores are dark with some active rust and old pitting.
